Egg Roll in a Bowl

Savor all the deliciousness of classic egg rolls without the fuss in this flavorful Egg Roll in a Bowl. Easy to make and packed with veggies, it’s a perfect weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage mix (green and red cabbage, carrots)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the vegetable oil.
  2. 2. Add the ground pork to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. 3. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the cooked pork and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. 4. Stir in the shredded cabbage mix and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender, about 5 minutes.
  5. 5. Pour in the soy sauce and rice vinegar, stir well to combine, and let it simmer for another 2 minutes.
  6. 6. Drizzle the sesame oil over the mixture and toss everything to combine thoroughly.
  7. 7. Remove from heat and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  8. 8. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and serve warm.

Notes

For an extra punch of flavor, serve with a dash of sriracha or hot sauce.
